In my last blog post, I spoke about how my wife and I are in the home buying process. There’s one step we took last time that we had to do again: inspection.
We decided to use Accuracy Home Inspection for both because of what we read about them online. It was a good choice since Stu Devlin was very thorough both times around.
Stu even brought along his own bug guy as part of the inspection: Pest Pros. There were different exterminators on both occasions, which is good since it means an extra business card in my pocket.
The first inspection yielded very few problems, though we needed another person to go into the crawl space and explore. The townhouse we’re looking to get doesn’t have one.
The unfortunate news is that this home needs more work than the first home, but at least this house doesn’t have water overtly dripping out the side of it like the first one.
I don’t want to speak on these issues quite yet, as the closing hasn’t happened and the legal stuff is ongoing. However, both inspections gave us the vital information we need to move forward.
Both times, Accuracy Home Inspection and Pest Pros explained how everything was supposed to be and the problems that existed in a way I could understand. I’m not saying I’m stupid by any means, but I don’t have the expertise to know how things work in a home. Hell, I broke 2 screen door handles and made a few wall holes in my day.
The point is that I’d definitely recommend both if you’re looking to buy a house in Central Jersey.
