One Man’s Trash is Another’s Treasure

Business CardsAdam, one of my friends from college, came across a book of business cards while cleaning out an office for his job. He kindly thought of me when seeing it and asked if I still collect business cards.

Of course I said yes and he shipped them to me, which was nice of him to do. As the old saying (and the title of this blog posting) goes, one man’s trash is another’s treasure. Or more accurately, one man’s left behind business card catalog is another’s enabler to his habit of being a business card collector.

From the looks of the business cards, it seems like the guy was doing something associated with the electronic components industry. I recognized a couple of the companies based on my past experience at Advantage Business Media.

This person was very detailed and meticulous with his record keeping since he had phone numbers and names of everyone written on the business cards. He even kept older cards and crossed off the names and replaced them with the new people working at that company currently. Others were even crossed out completely and replaced with new company names.

There are a couple of hundred business cards in total and I don’t think I would have ever gotten any of them. Thanks for feeding the addiction Adam!
