Kleenstar Dry Cleaners Hung Out to Dry

Kleenstar Dry CleanersIn the world, some businesses eventually wind up shutting down. I wrote about it a few months ago when Mike Isabella restaurant G Grab and Go quickly went out of business.

In the case of Kleenstar Dry Cleaners, it was in business for a long time. My fiancĂ©e Beth’s family has been using them for as long as she could remember. It was run by an older Indian couple who were always personable. In fact, Beth went there so often that they knew her by name.

And they never did anything bad any time I went there to get my clothes cleaned. But that prompts the question, “why did they go out of business?”

I have no idea. I even called the Property Management Office and asked. The woman on the other line didn’t know. I did see the owners talking to the management office a couple of days later when I went to do the laundry. All I heard were the goodbyes and the former Kleenstar owners saying that it was a pleasure working with the management office.

New Pearl CleanersNow, I had to find a new dry cleaner. Luckily, I once went to New Pearl Cleaners for a reason I can’t remember. I don’t recall having a horrendous experience there, so I decided to try again.

The result? Faster dry cleaning for a cheaper price. They even asked when I wanted it done by rather than telling me when I can pick it up. That’s quite convenient and customer oriented. It looks like I should have made this decision a while ago.

How did you handle one of the businesses you relied on going out of business? Let me know in the comments!
