We Got Our Living Room Furniture From Raymour and Flanigan

Marilyn Brush Raymour and FlanaganOne crucial process that we needed to go through for the move was furniture shopping. My hand-me-down recliners broke over the years and we were down to one uncomfortable hand-me-down couch that’s now in the guest bedroom.

And it’s the guest bed. So if you sleep over, then I’ll fold it out, give you pillows and you can go night-night. We went to 3 stores for furniture, but knew that going to the Raymour and Flanigan location in Iselin section of Woodbridge, New Jersey would probably me where we would get our living room set.

We went to Raymour and Flanigan first and met with Marilyn Brush who helped us once we looked into couch choices we desired. Beth was leaning towards a couch with a chaise, but I was on the side of getting a couch with recliners built in. It’s the epic battle between style and comfort. Man vs woman. (Spoiler alert: she won). Marilyn gave us the pros and cons of both couch choices, which was convenient… not that it deterred our eventually couch decision.

Just to ensure we were making a good decision, We also shopped at Bob’s Furniture where there were 6 salespeople at the door ready to pounce. Luckily, we were approached by the oldest guy, so we told him we were browsing and were able to escape because he was too slow. The best part was snagging some free snacks, including cookies and one of my favorites: caramels with vanilla cream in the middle.

We also went to Ashley Furniture and they didn’t have much of a selection. We chose on getting a chocolate-colored couch (I almost said chocolate-covered, but I changed it to avoid an instant diabetes diagnosis) with a matching big chair/ottoman combo for me at Raymour and Flanigan. I have to say that we made a good choice since both are super comfortable.

I’ve already fallen asleep on multiple occasions throughout the 2 weeks of owning this Raymour and Flanigan furniture. It sure as hell beats my old couch.
