The Brick House vs The Grace Building: Battle For Wyckoff NJ

Brick House Wyckoff NJThe title of this blog post may be slightly overhyped, but here’s some backstory to what I mean. The Grace Building is home to my company office along with a number of others.

The Brick House is an upscale restaurant that offers a nice atmosphere with a lovely menu including meals made for 2. I know they’re a classy joint since they offer valet parking. And that valet parking fills up the Brick House lot quite fast and oftentimes, goes over into the Grace Building.

I always assumed this was an agreement between the 2 buildings when Brick House got overcrowded. But, it seems like the relationship isn’t as amicable as I thought. Please note that I work remotely and this is a secondhand account of an incident that went down last month.

The Incident

One day, one of the other Grace Building tenants (or perhaps even the landlord) got into a shouting match with the valets and/or management at The Brick House for taking up parking spots in our lot. And it got to the point where the police were called in to intervene.

The Grace Building landlord sent out an email stating that several complaints regarding a sewer like smell were received and upon investigation, it was found that someone had urinated all over the mens bathroom on the 1st floor. Those bathrooms are only accessible via a key or someone letting a person in.

Apparently, one of the other tenants said it was actually much worse than that since he got rid of the “offensive basket contents” before any cleaning people arrived. I would assume that offensive basket contents mean poop, so I’m not sure why he’d try to clean up the poop unless he did it.

He also claimed that this may very well be in retaliation for the incident in the parking lot immediately preceding this event and that the landlord should review the security footage because this incident was a crime & the individual must be identified. Another tenant agreed with this, while a third male tenant noted the strong odor and also checked the ladies room for some reason.

Apparently, the footage was reviewed and the landlord said it was not vandalism. Which implies that it was someone inside the Grace Building such as a tenant. So it seems like the people make the most stink about it could be the culprit. You can’t say whoever smelt it dealt it since everyone can smell the stench.
